Nikon’s Coolpix family of digital cameras has grown with no less than five different new models that will suit the needs of everyone. So please meet the new Nikon Coolpix P610, S9900, S7000, L840 and L340 digital cameras!

We’ll start with the Coolpix P610 model – this one offers full-scale photography with a 60x optical zoom (up to 120x when Dynamic Fine Zoom is used) NIKKOR lens that covers the wide-angle 24 mm to superb-telephoto 1440 mm angles of view. The camera also has Dual Detect Optical VR, a shooting time lag of about 0.12 sec and a small chassis that Nikon says is one of the smallest in the 60x or higher optical zoom class. The P610 is also the first Coolpix camera to be equipped with an electronic viewfinder with a built-in eye sensor.

The S9900 is a high-performance model that features a 30x optical zoom (up to 60x with Dynamic Fine Zoom) NIKKOR lens that covers the wide-angle 25 mm to super-telephoto 750 mm angles of view. The camera has a 3-inch, 921K-dot vari-angle TFT LCD monitor for easier photo taking, high-speed AF, a GPS receiver, support for GLONASS and more.

The S7000 is the most elegant and stylish model of the five. This one comes with the world’s slimmest and lightest body that makes it easy to take anywhere. The camera has a high-performance 20x optical zoom (up to 40x with Dynamic Fine Zoom) NIKKOR lens that covers the wide-angle 25 mm to super-telephoto 500 mm angles of view, a backside illumination CMOS sensor, a pixel count of 16 million pixels, various movie functions such as Time-lapse Movie function and Short Movie Show and more.

The Nikon Coolpix L840 is a model that combines simple operation and superior image quality. The camera has a 38x optical zoom (up to 76x with Dynamic Fine Zoom) NIKKOR lens that covers the wide-angle 22.5 mm to super-telephoto 855 mm angles of view, a 3-inch HD TFT LCD monitor for easier picture taking, a large grip for easier handling and carrying and more.
