Vado HD pocket video cam: Now shipping in Europe! See it, shoot it, share it…in high definition

creative-vadohd-camCreative, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products, is now shipping the new Vado™ HD Pocket Video Cam in Europe. The thin, lightweight Vado HD is small enough to fit easily in a pocket, purse or the palm of a hand and it captures video in high definition (720p) at the touch of a button.

Compact pocket cam captures HD video and outputs it via HDMI to high definition televisions.

The Vado HD is the only pocket video cam that combines HDMI connectivity and a supplied HDMI cable. It supports high definition output to an HDTV at up to 1080i. It also features a precision glass lens for stunning video quality, and 8GB of built-in memory to carry up to two hours of HD video.

“We designed the Vado HD so people can easily shoot all of life’s spontaneous and fun moments, and then come home and watch the videos on their HDTVs – all with high definition quality,” says Steve Erickson, Vice-President and General Manager for audio and video with Creative. “Users can upload their videos to a PC, or even watch them on their flat screens in HD quality! The Vado HD delivers 1080i high-definition video to an HDTV with the convenience of an HDMI connection.”

The simplicity of the Vado HD makes it ideal for capturing video at a moment’s notice. While a camcorder may often be stored out of the way, the Vado HD is always ready in seconds to capture high definition clips that people can cherish and save for a lifetime. With 8GB of built-in memory, the Vado HD can carry up to two hours of HD video without the need for tapes or DVDs. The removable, rechargeable battery provides up to two hours of recording and playback, and extra batteries are available as accessories.

The Vado HD supports fast and easy sharing of video on YouTubeä and Box.netä. It has a built-in USB connector and can be plugged into a PC just like a thumb drive. It comes pre-loaded with Vado Centralä software, which shows thumbnails of video clips and lets users preview them or copy them to a PC. The software also supports one-click video upload to YouTube or Box.net. For easier sharing of videos with selected friends and family, they can use Box.net to view or download a copy of the video. Vado Central enables capture of snapshots, and users can create and edit their video productions with free Muvee software, included in Vado Central.
