I-O Data also outs external BDXL writer

After the Buffalo announcement of external, BDXL compatible Blu-ray writer, now and the company I-O Data unveiled its own external Blu-ray BDXL disc burner.

The portable optical drive, codenamed BRP-U6X  measures 137(W)x 154(D)x 20(H) mm and weighs 620 g. It is capable to write 100/128 GB BDXL discs at up to 4X speed and BD-R/R, DL and LTH discs at up to 6X speeds, as well all variations of DVDs and CDs. The drive utilizes USB 2.0 connection and can be powered with either USB cable or AC adapter. It is set to ship in April for around $270.
