Patriot Memory debuts two new USB flash drives

The US memory and SSD maker Patriot Memory has presented two new USB flash drives – the Stellar Boost XT and Stellar Lite.

The Stellar Boost XT is a compact flash drive that weighs 8 grams and supports all Windows versions starting from Windows ME and Windows 2000 and newer, Mac OS 9 and newer and Linux 2.4+ or newer. The device is available in capacities of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB and reaches 110 MB/sec of read speed and 20 MB/sec of write speed for the 32 GB/64 GB models and 110 MB/sec of read speed and 10 MB/sec of write speed for the 16 GB model. The drive also supports USB 3.0 and Micro USB.

Stellar Light is a really small USB flash drive that weighs just 1 gram and comes in an aluminum chassis. The drive is offered in four capacities – of 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The device supports USB 2.0 and Micro USB and reaches 30 MB/sec of read speed and 15 MB/sec of write speed for the 8 GB model, while the 16 GB/32 GB/64 GB models offer 30 MB/sec of read speed and 20 MB/sec of write speed. The Stellar Light offers the same OS compatibility as the Stellar Boost XT.

All new flash drives get a 5-year warranty and will be on the market by the end of May 2014. The Stellar Boost XT will sell for USD 12.99 – USD 44.99 depending on capacity, while the Stellar Lite will cost you USD 14.99 – USD 39.99, again depending on capacity.
