Ranch Run is one of these games that seem to have been made just for children but in fact the app has more content inside than expected. The game is all about racing and puts you in the shoes of a ranch owner who uses their animals for racing events where you can win money and fame.
The app starts with a short tutorial where you will learn how to play the game. The rules are easy – tap a button during a certain moment to achieve the best start possible and then race as quickly as possible onto the track. There are dirty tricks too that you can perform on your opponents so Ranch Run packs some strategy inside. The first trick is to jump and then fall, shaking the ground around you, which leaves your opponent on the ground confused; then you can throw banana peels on the track so that your competitor trips and falls and finally you can use a special boost button that makes you dash forward. All these tricks are powered by energy, which is limited so use them wisely and when needed. When (and if) you win you can take on another competitor and in the mean time you can build and expand your existing ranch so that your animals can live and feel better inside.
The game is really cool and comes for free but there are some problems with it, sadly. The app is a large one so you will have to wait some for it to download and then install and when you fire it up, you will discover that there are additional files that must be downloaded before you can finally play. Then during the gameplay we experienced strange black squares where ranch buildings had to be situated and then this thing happened again while we were racing. Of course, it could be our Android device only but who knows, this might be a bug in the app as well. Apart from this we have no other complaints – the game is fun and comes with nice 2D graphics and sound so you will enjoy it for sure.
