Strict to its traditions the leading Taiwanese maker of computer hardware and digital solutions MSI has introduced another new gaming notebook that carries the GT72 Dominator Pro brand name. The new company product tries to combine mobility and high-end hardware in one place for the ultimate gaming experience and by looking at the GT72 Dominator Pro specs you can say that MSI has succeeded once again.
The GT72 Dominator Pro is available in two versions – GT72 Dominator Pro-007 and GT 72 Dominator Pro-010 with the latter version being less powerful than the former. The truth is, however, that the differences are small – both gaming notebooks come with the powerful Core i7-4710HQ processor at 2.5 GHz (3.4 GHz in Turbo Mode), a 17.3-inch Full HD display, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M graphics with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory, a Blu-Ray disk burner, six USB 3.0 ports, a 9-cell battery, Dynaudio premium speakers with a subwoofer and more. The only differences are in the RAM and storage departments – the GT72 Dominator Pro-007 has 32 GB of DDR3L memory at 1600 MHz and 4 x 128 GB SSDs in RAID 0 plus a 1 TB hard drive at 7200 rpm, while the GT72 Dominator Pro-010 has 24 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory and 2 x 128 GB SSDs in RAID 0 and a 1 TB 7200 rpm hard drive.
The specs themselves are impressive but the GT72 Dominator Pro has more to surprise you with. The notebook comes with a completely redesigned one-piece aluminum chassis that is less than 2 inches thick. The chassis also sports customizable lighting effects for superb aesthetic pleasure. A dual-fan cooling solution takes care of system temperatures. Based around the MSI Twin Frozr cooling technology the cooler is both efficient and whisper quiet. On the other hand the Killer DoubleShot Pro technology combines Killer E2200 Game Networking and Killer N1525 Wireless-AC for delivering the fastest data transfer speeds available in the world. A SteelSeries-designed keyboard with backlit LEDs completes the picture.
