MSI releases the new Prestige Series notebooks

MSI has released a new line of portable notebooks called Prestige Series. As the name of the line suggests it comes with premium hardware and targets people who work with multimedia files, various creative projects and multiple business files that require performance.

The new Prestige Series bets on a premium boutique design, high-speed hardware and a number of additional technologies that make working with a Prestige Series notebook a pleasure. The line currently has two representatives – the PE70 2QD-062US model and the PE60 2QD-060US. There are minor differences between the two models – the former notebook offers a 17.3-inch Full HD eDP wide view angle display and 16 GB of DDR3L-1600 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) while the latter has a 15.6-inch Full HD eDP wide view angle display and 12 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory (8 GB + 4 GB). The difference in the display sizes creates differences in the chassis – the first model measures 16.49 x 11.02 x 1.14 inches (419 x 280 x 29 mm) and weighs 5.95 lbs (2.7 kg), while the second one measures 15.07 x 10.23 x 1.06 inches (383 x 260 x 27 mm) and weighs 5.29 lbs (2.4 kg).

The rest of the hardware is the same – you get a quad-core Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor at 2.6 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo), an Intel HM87 chipset, GeForce GTX 950M graphics with 2 GB of GDDR3 memory, a 1 TB SATA hard drive at 7200 rpm, a DVD Super Multi DVD burner, Killer Gaming Network, 802.11ac Wi-Fi by Intel, a SD/SDXC/SDHC card reader, three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, HDMI 1.4, a 720p web camera, four 2W speakers, a 102-key keyboard and Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Apart from these nice hardware specs the new Prestige Series offers the True Color Technology that ensures color accuracy through a calibration process that adjusts the screen’s color temperature, visible color range and gray level stage and different color profiles to maximize performance – sRGB default mode for optimum graphics, Gamer to increase brightness, Designer with increased clarity for ultra-clear lines, Anti-Blue to reduce harmful blue light, Movie to optimize contrast for even more vivid graphics, and Office to minimizes eye strain after long term use.

The 17.3-inch PE70 2QD-062US and the 15.6-inch PE60 2QD-060US models are now available for USD 1299.99 and USD 1199.99, respectively.
