Gelid announces new AM1 cooler

It is always nice to have a faster processor, a more powerful video card or the latest smartphone but the truth is that most money is made in the mid-range and budget-oriented market segments. And since most tech web sites deal only with the latest and greatest hardware sometimes it is really hard to find information on budget-oriented products that after all, when combined, may create a really nice end product.

That’s why we are here to help. This time we will tell you of a new Gelid CPU cooler designed for the budget AMD AM1 platform. The cooler is called Gelid Slim Silence AM1 and is very short, which allows users to use it in small-sized PC cases.

The Gelid Slim Silence AM1 cooler measures 79 x 79 x 26 mm and uses a 70 mm cooling fan for total weight of 132 grams. The cooling fan spins at 1200-2600 rpm and makes noise between 15-27.2 dBa pushing around 20 cubic feet of air per minute (CFM). The lifespan of the cooling fan is 50 000 hours, according to Gelid.

The new Gelid Slim Silence AM1 is available now for just USD 11.
