Japanese carrier launches world’s lightest tablet

The Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo has launched the NTT DoCoMo Medias Tab UL N-08D, which is claimed to be the world’s lightest tablet.

The device weighs just 249 grams despite its 7-inch display and measures 199 x 114 x 7.9 mm. Inside the tablet is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core processor at 1.5 GHz and has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 7-inch multi-touch display at 1280 x 800 resolution, Android 4.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G support, LTE, a card reader, an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera and a battery that holds 3100 mAh of power.

The device will be available starting in September but unfortunately the tablet will hit stores in Japan with no word on international availability as of now.
