MediaTek comes up with MT8125 SoC

The popular SoC maker MediaTek has created a new smartphone and tablet SoC that will soon find its way in the mobile devices – the MT8125. The new company product comes with two Cortex-A7 cores at 1.5 GHz and integrated PowerVR Series5XT graphics that is capable of producing Full HD images and has hardware 1080p acceleration.

In addition the new chip has 3G HSPA+ modem and full support for 13 MP cameras, 2G/EDGE, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and an FM radio. This means the MT8125 will be capable of producing Full HD in sub-USD 250 tablets.

The first devices that will come with the MT8125 will be the upcoming Acer Iconia A1-810, expected in June 2013.
