Samsung GALAXY Tab 7-inch Android 2.2 powered tablet

Samsung today officially announced GALAXY Tab 7-inch Android 2.2 powered tablet, which promise PC-like web-browsing and all forms of multimedia,  as well you can use it for e-mail, voice and video call, SMS/MMS  and of course to take care of your garden in facebook.

The tablet measures 190.09 x 120.45 x 11.98 mm (Model: GT-P1000), weights 380 grams, powered by Cortex A8 1.0GHz Application Processor with PowerVR SGX540 graphics, boats 7-inch with 1024 x 600 resolution touchscreen- ideal for for watching films and e-reading, has 512 MB RAM and 16GB / 32GB internal memory with up to 32GB external on microSD card slot. For connectivity you can count on 2.5G (GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE) : 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and integrated 3G (HSUPA 5.76Mbps, HSDPA 7.2Mbps), of course there are 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 too. But that’s not all, there is a 3-megapixel autofocus camera on the back with  LED flash and 720p HD video capability and another one – front-facing 1.3-megapixel webcam, allowing face-to-face video calls over 3G. You can use it as speakerphone on the desk, or a mobile phone on the move via Bluetooth headset. Nice

Hold up, Galaxy Tab also packs an Accelerometer, Gyroscope sensor, Geo-magnetic sensor, Light sensor, GPS, speaker, thermometer, immersion heater and microwave oven (without last three), but I would not be surprised if they was included too. As you know already it runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) and comes with plenty of useful apps, Thinkfree Office, Swype, Hybrid Widget, Googles app, as well Samsung’s  ‘Readers Hub’ e-reading application, that provides “easy access to a vast digital library – from classical literature to the latest bestsellers and reference materials”, Samsung’s ‘Media Hub’ – a world of films and videos and ‘Music Hub,’ – giving access to a wide range of music tunes.  It also boasts Adobe Flash 10.1 player support and  HD video player that support wide range of multimedia formats (DivX, XviD, MPEG4, H.263, H.264), moreover Galaxy Tab is the world’s first DivX certified tablet. And finally,  Samsung says that you will be able to watch 7 hours of  video, thanks to its 4,000mAh battery.
