Toshiba uncovers world’s thinnest and lightest Android tablet

Toshiba Singapore Digital Products and Service Group (DS) has unveiled what it calls the world’s thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch Android tablet.

The new device is called REGZA Tablet AT200 and measures only 7.7 mm from front to rear and weighs just 535 grams. It also includes a wide range of essential ports and interfaces including micro-USB, microSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microHDMI for streaming high definition content.

In addition the new Toshiba tablet also includes front and rear HD cameras that allow video conferencing with friends and family and makes it possible to run augmented reality applications.

The built-in stereo speakers come with sound enhancement technologies from Toshiba and SRS Labs that can deliver rich and natural sound experience on the go. The integrated Adaptive Sound Device Enhancer maximizes sound quality to that of large speakers while Sound Masking Equalizer can enhance sound that is being masked or distorted by surround noise. The display on the other hand is simply amazing, featuring wide-view and offers full browsing capabilities.

Running Android 3.2 Honeycomb, the Toshiba REGZA Tablet AT200 comes with a docking station for comfortable use and is available at all Toshiba resellers for a price of 849 USD.
