Japanese company unveils the world’s smallest and lightest phone

The Japanese telecommunications provider Willcom has announced the Phone Strap 2 WX06A, which it claims is the world’s smallest and lightest phone.

The device measures just 32 x 70 x 10.7 mm and weighs only 32 grams. That being said the Phone Strap 2 is just a little thicker than the first Phone Strap but still this does not prevent it from being the world’s current smallest and lightest phone.

Being such the Phone Strap 2 does not pack much – it comes with a one-inch display and allows for up to 2 hours of talk time and up to 12 days on stand by. An additional feature is that the device can “strap” onto a larger handset or tablet thus providing basic communications functionality.

Don’t get too excited though – the Phone Strap 2 will become available later this year and in Japan only where customers can choose among three versions – in pink, white or black.

Pricing is unknown.
