Vertu announces first Android smartphone – Vertu Ti

The luxury smartphone maker Vertu, until recently associated with Nokia, has announced its first Android-based smartphone – the Vertu Ti.

As expected from the Vertu brand the novelty sports premium materials and consists of 184 parts with each one of them being hand-made. The device sports leather, stainless steel, sapphire glass and speakers, which have been fine-tuned by experts working with the London symphonic orchestra.

The hardware inside includes a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260 processor, running at 1.7 GHz, a 3.7-inch display at 480 x 800 pixels, 1 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, 802.11n Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. The smartphone also features front and rear cameras and a 1250 mAh battery and offers support for all kinds of SIM cards including mini and nano SIM cards.

Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich the Vertu Ti is expected to retail for at least USD 10 500.
