HTC just unveiled its latest Android addition, a budged-oriented smartphone called HTC Explorer, packed with 3.2-inch HVGA (480×320) touchscreen, a 600MHz processor and 3.15-megapixel.
HTC says that this is their “most affordable smartphone” and is aimed at first time smartphone customers. The phone has a compact, curved design with exchangeable back cover, all measuring 102.8mm x 57.2mm x 12.9mm and weighting 108 grams with the its Lithium-ion 1230 mAh battery.
HTC Explorer runs Android 2.3 Gingebread, along with the latest version of HTC’s Sense 3.5 interface. It has 512MB of RAM and the requisite, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor,GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. The phone also offers SRS virtual surround sound enhancement, full web browsing with Flash support, Smart URL prediction and social network integration, as well as a couple new features and apps, like the new Smart Dialer that displays a one-touch menu for quick, easy dialing of contacts, and Data monitor which helps you track and control your mobile data.
HTC Explorer will be available in in Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy colors, and also as an optional back covers, you will be able to buy following colors – Metallic Orange, Metallic Blue, Metallic White, and Metallic Purple. It is expected to become available in Q4 this year, but no word on pricing yet, but as HTC claims it will be cheap.
