It’s not hard to guess what MMX Racing is all about just by looking at the app title – yes, the game is all about racing but this time you have a truck as your racing weapon and not a car!
Excited? Don’t be – MMX Racing is easily the largest Android game we have seen so far. At 315 MB in size this app requires free space as well as a stable connection to the Internet. This is not everything – prepare a powerful Android device or otherwise you will not be able to get the frames per second that you need. Yes, MMX Racing is a demanding game due to the 3D graphics inside and all the visual effects you are about to experience.
Apart from that MMX Racing does deliver. The main goal of the game is to beat your opponent and make it to the final line first. Easy? Not quite. You will have to finish a quick how-to-play tutorial first before you can get to the actual game. Don’t underestimate the first challenge as if you fail it, you will have to go over it again and again and again. Once you are finished you get to purchase your first truck which is a piece of junk but if you win you will be able to get better vehicles down the road. Race and win, race and win – this is what MMX Racing is all about.
We’ll say a few words about the visuals too – they are excellent. Everything is in 3D and you will see where all these megabytes went. The sound is also nice. One thing that we didn’t get, however, was why you get see your truck sideways while racing. This is strange – we thought that we would be able to see our truck from behind but this simply did not happen. Anyway you can play the game with this camera too.
There isn’t that much else to say about this app – if you are into racing and you have a powerful Android device, then go for it. Otherwise save yourself the trouble and look for another game.
