The mass air flow sensor in a Toyota Camry is located between the air filter and intake manifold where it detects the rate of air flow into the engine. What Does a MAF Sensor Do?

Locate the MAF sensor housing on the air filter cover and use a screwdriver to remove two Phillips screws. Lift out the sensor and spray a specialized mass airflow sensor cleaner onto the wire element from both sides. Gently shake the part to dislodge debris.

Avoid touching the wire or getting cleaner into the electrical components, as this may cause damage that requires part replacement. Wait until the component is completely dry before reinserting the MAF sensor into the air filter cover and replacing the screws.

How Do You Replace a Toyota Camry MAF Sensor?

If cleaning does not resolve the problem, you will need to replace a Toyota Camry mass air flow sensor. This part ranges in price from around $70 to $178 or more. Remove the old sensor from the air filter cover and insert the new MAF sensor. Tighten the screws that hold the sensor in place.
