Patriot extends Viper DRAM series with DDR4 memory

The US memory maker Patriot has added DDR4 memory modules to its Viper DRAM series. The new memory is called Viper 4 and can now be used with the latest and most powerful Intel X99/Haswell-E platform.

The new Viper 4 line will be available in memory kits with capacities of 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) and 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) and will offer speeds that range from 2400 MHz to 3200 MHz at a voltage of 1.2-1.35V. Quite naturally the new memory targets hardcore gamers, power users and hardware enthusiasts.

“We are really excited about this new addition to our Viper Line,” said Les Henry, Patriot’s VP of Engineering. “The new Viper 4 line benchmarks are crushing the older DDR3 scores from just about every hardware benchmark: memory bandwidth, SSD and USB just to name a few.”

The Patriot Viper 4 line offers a new custom-built heat spreader that makes sure your memory stays cool. The memory is also compatible with Intel XMP 2.0 but gives users the opportunity to overclock their systems by editing the SPD settings in BIOS.

The Viper 4 DDR4 memory line will be commercially available in Q1 2015 at various famous retailers such as Newegg and Amazon for USD 250-USD 700 depending on the kit and the speed chosen. The new memory line also offers a lifetime warranty.
