Amazon prepares new tablet for the masses

A new leak suggests that Amazon will launch a new tablet in the coming weeks. The company has just launched the new Kindle Oasis e-reader so the upcoming device may be a piece of a larger plan for Amazon’s big comeback to the market.

The new device carries the KFGIWI code name and it is said that it will come with a MediaTek MT8163 processor with four Cortex-A53 cores and Mali-T720 MP2 graphics. The device will also have an 8-inch display that works at 1280 x 800 pixels and 1.5 GB of RAM, which makes it a decent device. In addition to this the tablet will have 8 GB of internal memory and two cameras – one rear at 2 MP and another front at 0.3 MP.

There’s no word on when the KFGIWI tablet will appear but it should be in stores by the end of this year.
