LG’s 32-, 47- and 55-inch TV LCD panels will be produced at their Second 8th Generation Production Line ‘P8E(Extension)’

Korean Manufacturer LG announced today that starts mass production at its second 8th generation plant P8E (Extension) in Paju Display Cluster, where will primarily manufacture 32-, 47- and 55-inch TV LCD panels from its 2,200mm X 2,500mm glass substrates with initial monthly capacity of 30,000 input sheets.

LG Display is planning to adjust the ramp-up schedule of P8E flexibly depending on market conditions and to increase the number to 120,000 sheets by the year’s end.

Market researcher DisplaySearch reported that global LCD TV market broke through the 100 million mark for the first time in 2008 to reach 113 million units. The number grew to 163 million units in 2009 and is forecast to continue its fast-paced growth to post 195 million units in 2010 and 216 million units in 2011.
