MSI releases the Z170M Mortar gaming motherboard

MSI has announced a new LGA 1151-based motherboard that combines a small size with various gaming hardware features under the interesting and catchy Z170M Mortar brand name.

The new Z170M Mortar is based on Intel’s Z170 chipset as the name suggests and hence it has support for all Intel 6th generation Core processors, codenamed Skylake. The board offers the micro-ATX form factor, which means it will fit in nearly all PC cases out there and includes four memory slots for up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory at up to 3600 MHz, two PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots with support for CrossFireX, two PCI-E x1 slots, six SATA 3.0 connectors, four USB 3.1 ports, an M.2 port, DVI, HDMI, a single PS/2 connector and 7.1-channeled Realtek ALC892 sound.

The MSI Z170M Mortar is now on the market where it sells for around USD 140, which is not that much given what the board offers – a small size plus all the gaming hardware features one would need.
