be quiet! presents its first high-end PC case

The German maker of various cooling solutions and PC power supplies be quiet! has announced its first high-end PC chassis – the Silent Base 800. The new case measures 495 x 266 x 559 mm and comes with lots of free space while promising low noise as you can see from the name of the product. The chassis is clearly oriented at high-end buyers and hardware enthusiasts and delivers an innovative design that combines both excellent cooling performance and low noise levels.

To ensure low noise be quiet! has developed innovative front, top and bottom panels that provide intelligent airflow. The panels allow for easy drawing of fresh air inside which then gets transported through the interior, thus increasing the cooling capacity when compared to other conventional solutions. At the same time the sound waves created inside the chassis stay there.

To minimise the noise level even further, be quiet! has covered the side panels and front cover of the Silent Base 800 with a brand new anechoic material. In addition, three award winning Pure Wings 2 fans have been installed, decoupled from the housing. Two of them are 140 millimeter format and have been factory installed in the front panel and another Silent Wings 2 fan with a 120 millimeter diameter has been placed in the rear. This configuration already provides optimal airflow, but that can be increased further with the installation of up to four additional fans and by opening the 3-in-1 air intakes in the side panels.

The new be quiet! Silent Base 800 PC case offers a lot of space for various high-end PC components and fully supports ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ATX motherboards as well as long graphics cards up to 40 centimeters and heavy-duty tower coolers with heights of up to 17 centimeters. The case provides space for up to three 5.25-inch drives, seven 3.5-inch drives and four 2.5-inch drives. In addition the case is tool-less and silicone inserts decouple the hard drives and power supply from the case. The Silent Base 800 also supports water cooling solutions. Expensive hardware does not like dust and be quiet! knows it – this is why the Silent Base 800 comes with pre-installed dust filters too.

The new case will be available on November 24 in black/orange, completely black as well as black/silver color combinations. As to pricing the case will sell for USD 139.90 (excluding VAT) or EUR 119 (including VAT). For the UK the MSRP is GBP 99 (including VAT).
