HP rolls out three budget tablets

HP has unveiled three new budget-oriented tablets known as Compaq 7, Compaq 7J and Compaq 8. They all share quite a bit of specs and come with Allwinner A31s quad-core processor at 1 GHz, PowerVR SGX544 MP2 graphics, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, rear 2 MP and front 0.3 MP cameras and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The new series differs the most in its displays. The Compaq 8 has gotten a 7.85-inch display that works at 1024 x 768 pixels and a 3800 mAh battery while the other two models will rely on 7-inch sensor displays that work at 1024 x 600 pixels. Users can choose between TN-based displays and IPS-based ones.

The initial price of the new tablets is around USD 200.
