Panasonic introduced the Toughbook 31 rugged notebook

Panasonic today today introduced its 13.1-inch fully-rugged clamshell notebook – Toughbook 31. It is the sixth generation of flagship Toughbook notebooks, now powered by Intel Core i5 or i3 processor and ATI Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics.

The Toughbook 31 has full magnesium alloy case,  protected from drops of up to six feet and has achieved an IP65 rating for unparalleled protection from water and dust,  also certified to MIL-STD-810G, which makes it a ideal choice for professionals like  military personnel and  field workers. Spec wise it offers 13.1-inch XGA touchscreen display with Panasonic CircuLumintechnology and 1,100 nit brightness, Core i5 CPU ( 540M CPU 2.53GHz, 520M CPU 2.40GHz, Core i3-350M), up to 8GB RAM, 160 or 250GB HDD, Radeon HD 5650 graphics, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, optional 3G. The Toughbook 31 also supports numerous security features, including options for an insertable SmartCard reader and fingerprint reader, using biometrics to protect mission-critical data. It comes with with pre-installed Windows 7 (XP downgrade option) and is backed by a three-year warranty, all with starting price of $3,799.
