HTC releases the One M9 Prime Camera Edition smartphone

The Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has released the new One M9 Prime Camera Edition smartphone in Europe. The handset has become available in Poland and will soon be sold in other European countries as well. Despite the similar names the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition smartphone is different than the HTC One M9 handset, although some specs are the same.

The first difference is in the camera quality – strangely enough the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition comes with a 13 MP rear camera with an aperture of F/2.0. For instance, the HTC One M9 comes with a 20.7 MP rear camera with an aperture of F/2.2. So why does HTC sell the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition as a smartphone with an excellent rear camera? We do not have an answer to this question.

Second, the new HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition smartphone is based on a MediaTek Helio X10 processor, while the One M9 smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 810 SoC. In addition the RAM and storage memory in the HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition are 2 GB and 16 GB, when the One M9 has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The rest of the specs are the same – both smartphones have 5-inch displays that work at Full HD resolution, UltraPixel front cameras and 2840 mAh batteries.

There’s no information on how much the new HTC One M9 Prime Camera Edition costs but in Poland the device is available for PLN 1, which is around 23 euro cents but this price is valid only if you choose a monthly plan that costs at least PLN 99.99, which is around EUR 22.70.
