ZTE launches Axon smartphone

ZTE has launched a new smartphone on the US market called Axon. The new Axon will serve as the company’s flagship model in the United States and therefore it packs some nice specs.

The new Axon measures 154 x 73.7 x 9.4 mm and weighs 173 grams. The handset is based on the Snapdragon 810 processor and packs a 5.5-inch display that works at 2560 x 1440 pixels being at the same time protected by Gorilla Glass 3 technology. The device has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory but lacks a microSD card slot for expansion. To somewhat compensate the ZTE Axon has three cameras – two in the back and one up front. The rear cameras offer 13 MP and 2 MP of sensitivity while the front camera is an 8 MP one. A 3000 mAh battery powers the device and there’s support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology which accelerates the battery charging process. The Axon runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and also comes with built-in JBL speakers.

The smartphone is available in three colors – gold, silver, and blue and can be purchased for USD 450 with no contract. Unfortunately it seems the Axon will be available in the USA only.
