NVIDIA recalls certain Shield tablets over fire hazard

NVIDIA has issued a voluntary recall of its 8-inch Shield tablets that were sold between July 2014 and July 2015 with the reason for the recall being a faulty battery that can overheat and cause fire damage. The tablets with the bad battery will be replaced and the recall does not affect any other NVIDIA products.

If you happen to own one such faulty tablet then you have to visit this web page to get information how to obtain a replacement device. In addition NVIDIA is asking its customers to stop using the faulty tablets except if needed to participate in the recall or backup data. To get a replacement tablet all you have to do is register.
